Topics of research

The software development of genetic information analysis, educational contents in medicine and the idea generation support system are main research subjects.

(1) Software Development of Genetic Information Analysis
The visually-aided and easy-to-use software to analyze genetic information is developed by advanced statistical analysis and knowledge information technology such as non-linear PCA or self organizing map. These software includes technologies of parallel computation such as MPI or GPGPU to calculate enormous data with grid computer.

(2) Development of Educational Contents in Basic Medicine
In "Lake Biwa Biomedical University Joint Project", educational digital contents of anatomy such as anatomybased stereoscopic 3D model, 3D game software to learn anatomical terms and structure, or stereoscopic 3D movie of a real brain are developed with a coalition of Shiga University of Medical Science. These software enhance learning ef f ectiveness and promote interest in basic medicine.

(3) Establishment of practical methods of high-density and high-speed learning in advanced IT education
I have been fostering many motivated and young programmers in Exploratory Software Project of METI and ICT School of MEXT. I will apply these teaching know-how to promote students' creativity and power of original idea for IT education in our institute
